its still raining

since my last email it hasnt stopped raining. in fact its raining right now. we always try knocking doors in case someone just lets us in to be nice but they almost always say "im not interested but dont get wet!!!" lol thx.
but other than that we have been putting in mad work. when i got here my comp told me how dead this area is and that our weekly goal for new investigators is 4 if we were lucky. we pulled in 10 this week. needless to say i put my shoulder to the wheel.

on thursday we had to meet one of the sisters in my district at 9 in the morning to give her some medical results. i told my comp the night before that we were going to go out and work right after we met with her and he thought i was kidding. boy was he mad when he found out i was being serious. especially since we didnt have a single appointment lined up.  but it was so worth it because we found a new before everyone else in the mission left their house.

later that day we were walking on a busy street and this street was just calling my name so we started knocking doors on that street. we were about half way through when we knocked on this door and this guy comes out smoking and asked what we wanted. i told him that we were missionaries and wanted to share a message with him. he came out and my companion told me that he was probably coming out to argue with us which is pretty normal. he told us he wasnt interested at all so i asked if we could just come in and say a prayer with him. he said sure and invited us in. 30 minutes later we finished teaching him and his wife about the book of mormon. it was dope.

as a result of finding all day thursday, friday was full of appointments. and we ended up teaching a group of teenagers. young people are either not interested and just want to be friends or have a lot of good questions about religion and life. luckily for us, this case is the latter.

on friday we also met with the bishop and the ward mission leader and it looks like the ward is going to start having a lot of activities to help find people! i hope it all works out because everyone knows references are wayyyy better than contacts.

last week we got a reference from one of the senior couples for a lady who lives in their apartment complex. we visited them last week but only her brother was home so we set a return appointment for saturday. when we went only she was home but invited us right in without even saying anything. at first i was a little weirded out but then she told us about all the problems she has with her family and alcohol. super sad but she knows we can help her so i think shes going to progress really well.

yesterday we had one of the best lessons ive had in my whole mission. we finished teaching the restoration and invited him to be baptized. he said that he clearly would. the spirit was honestly so strong. were working on a date. hard to describe why the lesson went so well but dang it was dope.

anway!!! take care this week!
