Elder Richard Oveson: que onda cuate?

i will never figure out how to start a good email hahahha

in this ward the members usually give us money to eat so we eat out a lot. but on tueday the bishops wife took us out and paid rather than just giving money. they are freaking millionares so i took advantage for sure. didnt even think twice about ordering guacamole.

wednesday we had zone conference. it was great and i learned a lot. my favorite part was when my president gave his closing remarks. he quoted the scripture that says "choose this day whom you will serve" the lord or the world. there are a lot of missionarys in this mission who are here physically but really they are serving the world with their mind and pretty much everything else. i liked his words a lot.

after the conference while we were changing out of ours suits the visitors center called us with a reference. turns out it was an old investigator that we dropped because she wasnt coming to church or progressing. the sister told me that the missionarys just stopped going and when i realized who it was i wanted to tell her why we stopped going and that we dont teach just to teach. we teach to baptize and if they dont want to get baptized theres no point in going. but decided not to. guess well give her another shot.

wednesday it was one of our investigators birthday so we got him a cake #missionarysoftheyear

thursday we went to the visitors center with some investigators. the goal of the trip was to see my boy elder ames who is in the mtc but the dude took way too long in the session so i wasnt able to see him. its the thought that counts tho right? and my investigator had to work all night the night before so he ended up falling asleep a few times hahaha but it was a good time! when we were leaving the 8 year old daughter who is also getting baptized asked her dad "is it time to get baptized?" she is more excited than he is. it was really cute hahah

friday we went on divisions with the zone leaders! great day. one of our appointments fell through and he says to me "i feel like we should knock on that door" we knocked and found a part member family. gotta be a ZL to have that type of revelation

saturday was sick because we had so many apointments. our first was at 9 am and we didnt get home until 10. love days like that.

this weekend in one part of my area there was a carnival and when we walked through it it reminded me a lot of orem summerfest. mostly because of all the mexicans hahaha

something really awesome just happened. while we were sitting here writing this college aged girl comes up to me and asks if i speak english and could help her proofread her paper. as i was proofreading it i realized that i dont remember english grammer very well. but i helped her and continued writing. she finished and then came up to me and gave me a candy bar and asked if we were mormons. i said yes and then she gave me a paper with her address and phone number to go teach her!!! THE FIELD IS WHITE!!!! im stoked.
